Dear Professor Niimi:

Thank you for your letter of September 27.  If you want to continue with speech
recognition, it does not seem to me that Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory
is the best place for you in the United States as no one here is currently active
in that field.  I could suggest SRI International in Menlo Park, or Carnegie-Mellon
University.  As to the other topics you mention, I will show your letter to some
other faculty, especially to Professor Feigenbaum, the chairman of our department.
